Richard Ludwig began his real estate career in 1971 selling both single family and multi-family residential properties in and around the City of Detroit. Richard spent ten years in the commercial real estate business before founding Ludwig Real Estate & Investment Company. In 1985 Richard co-founded Ludwig and Seeley, Inc. (formerly Ludwig and Karas, Inc.) and together with longtime friend and business partner, Fred C. Seeley, operated one of Michigan’s most well-known and respected commercial real estate firms.
Mr. Ludwig’s background and responsibilities within the company include shopping center leasing and development, land acquisition, investment syndication, brokering of income producing properties, property management and financing.
After a stint (2012-2013) as Senior Vice President at Colliers International in Retail and in the Net Leased specialty group, Richard moved forward and joined the high energy and collaborative team at Fortis Net Lease. Richard’s current focus is on listing and sales of net leased retail and related investment properties and shopping centers from $1,000,000 to $50,000,000 or more.
The combination of prior multi-dimensional experiences and a career full of quality relationships, surrounded with the highly technical team at Fortis Net Lease has created a constant flow of referral business and 1031 exchanges from both institutions and high net worth individuals.
Richard Ludwig lives in Huntington Woods, Michigan with his wife, Lynne. Both have been very active in raising their family and in community.
